Bec Mac, is a provocative performance based producer/presenter whose work straddles broadcast media, performing arts and photography.
After ten years of getting down and dirty on the streets of Australia and more recently New York with her legendary live show LOVE TV, this enigmatic, fast thinking, dynamic host never fails to get her story.
She produces and presents the radio program Friday NEON on 4ZZZ a weekly cultural program featuring artists across all art forms.
As her alter ego Aphrodite – the Greek goddess of love, beauty, pleasure and procreation – Bec Mac as writer, producer and presenter of LOVE TV interviewed 1000s of people on the subject of love from around the world.
An innovative thinker, Bec Mac has developed a highly successful model of community engagement through partnerships with multiple City Councils and Festivals including The City Of New York. Through her ongoing project, LOVE TV, Bec Mac is a curator of cultural conversations working with communities in collective story-telling.
Bec Mac wrote and produced 2 seasons of her TV series The Bec Mac Show for Channel 31 (2015 &2013) in a style that is personal, powerful and provocative. Through her use of comedy, brutal honesty and irreverence, Bec Mac approaches the hot topics head on through humor (not confrontation), engaging viewers with unbiased insights from discussions. She has an enthusiasm for powerful story telling that reveals the guts of life challenging the viewer to question their perspectives. The Bec Mac show was also nominated for an Antenna Award.
Bec Mac is a brilliant facilitator and moderater, recently hosting a Q&A with Richard DeNatale as part of his Town Hall tours, Rock ‘n’ Roll Writers Festival, 612 ABC Radio (panellist) and Brisbane Festival Cultural Conversations moderator.
She also appeared in the recent production of “Gaybies” at The Powerhouse Brisbane and starred in the Tropfest film “Windshuttle Farm” in 2015.
